Super Bowl 61 Futures at Kalshi: Rams Remain Favorite Despite Ugly Week 1 Loss
The Los Angeles Rams are still favored to win Super Bowl 61 at Kalshi after opening the season with a 27-7 blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Australia.
Reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett (knee) will miss at least the next four games on the injured reserve list. Reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford looked pedestrian against the 49ers, so questions loom on both sides of the ball.

Top Super Bowl 61 Contenders
Let’s examine the five teams that have the best chance of winning Super Bowl 61.
Rams
Stafford was pulled in the fourth quarter against the 49ers, which limited him to 155 passing yards and no TD passes. He was also picked off once. It’s only one game, and one that was played on the other side of the world in Melbourne, Australia. In retrospect, it’s easy to criticize the team’s plan to arrive just one day early.
But head coach Sean McVay (pictured above) is loaded on offense and defense, even without Garrett in the lineup. It’s still TBD if Aaron Donald will play on Monday against the Giants. Let’s see how the Rams respond under the lights in primetime before writing their eulogy.
Bills
Buffalo enjoyed a 36-31 win over Houston, which many NFL observers have labeled a Super Bowl contender. There were some questions about the talent surrounding Josh Allen on offense entering the season, especially at the wide receiver position.
DJ Moore was the biggest offseason addition, but he turned in his least productive NFL season last year with Chicago. Moore got off to a quick start with the Bills, racking up 100 receiving yards and this impressive touchdown.
It remains to be seen if Allen will receive the requisite support he needs to get Buffalo over the hump. He’s a one-man show at times, and that can’t be the case if Buffalo is going to win the first Super Bowl in franchise history.
Ravens
The Ravens got off on the right foot with a 41-23 win over Indianapolis. Lamar Jackson looked like his usual self, generating TDs with his arm and legs. The ageless Derrick Henry was unstoppable at running back, too. Henry rushed for 144 yards and three TDs. Zay Flowers amassed 150 receiving yards and a TD.
Baltimore looks like one of the NFL’s most complete teams. The defense has been revamped under new head coach Jesse Minter. This is not a team you want to see in the playoffs. Barring key injuries, this is a team to back in Kalshi’s Super Bowl market.
Seahawks
Seattle schooled New England again in the season opener after a convincing win over the Patriots in Super Bowl 60. The bad news is quarterback Sam Darnold suffered a hip injury that could sideline him for four to six weeks. Drew Lock was solid in relief duty against the Patriots, but he’s not the same caliber of quarterback as Darnold.
Lead running back Zach Charbonnet remains out while recovering from a torn ACL suffered in last year’s playoffs. Seattle scored in bunches last season, but only managed 13 points against New England. They will have to make do until Darnold returns under center.
49ers
San Francisco played a complete game in the 20-point win over the Rams. The 49ers enter Week 2 as the largest favorite on the board, laying 12.5 points to the Dolphins at home.
There were some concerns when wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was ruled out this season with a PCL injury to his right knee. But new WR1 Mike Evans enjoyed a solid debut with six catches for 49 yards and a TD against the Rams. Deebo Samuel also had six catches, 48 yards, and a TD catch after his return to San Francisco. Demarcus Robinson chipped in with 50 yards and a score.
As long as Christian McCaffery and Brock Purdy can stay healthy in San Francisco’s backfield, this is another bona fide Super Bowl contender. The defense just held the NFL’s most explosive offense to seven points and 290 yards of total offense.
Top picks: Ravens and 49ers
