UK Gambling Commission launches online licensing services for non-remote operators

Remote operators have been able to utilise the online application service since the regulatory body introduced it in February of this year.

Dawn Best, licensing manager at the Commission, said the move builds on the introduction of online services for remote operators and is a “further step along the way to providing a complete set of eServices for all applicants and licensees”.

The regulatory body said that it will improve the online services it provides, allowing applicants to navigate through the application in a way that “reflects their business model and individual circumstances”, including providing the option for operators to skip questions that don’t apply to them.

It will also allow applicants to upload information and supporting documentation for their application, such as certified copies of identity documents and bank statements, reducing the risk of original documents being lost in the post and delivery delays.

While the Commission has not withdrawn the option to apply using manual application forms at the moment, it plans to do so in the near future.
