New Jersey online gaming revenue continues to decline

Online gaming revenue in New Jersey has decreased for the third consecutive month, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has confirmed.

Financial figures for November reveal an $800,000 drop to $8.7m – a steep fall from the $10.5m that was recorded in August.

Not only do the latest numbers continue the decline, they are also the lowest monthly figures posted in 2014.

Borgata continues to lead the New Jersey i-gaming market with monthly revenue of $3.37m, and has seen a major leap from 2013 figures of $401,162 for the same month.

Overall gaming win in the state has significantly decreased 10.3% to $202.5m, compared to $225.7m in 2013, and has fallen from $207.5m the previous month.

The yearly decline could be explained by the closure of four casinos in Atlantic City this year, with the Trump Taj Mahal set to become the fifth Atlantic City casino to shut.

Online gambling win for the year to date totals $112.1m, and total gaming win for the same period stands at $2.56bn, which is just over $1bn short of the total for the entire of 2013.
