New Jersey gaming win down for February

The New Jersey gaming market suffered a 1.9% year-on-year gaming win decrease for current operators in February, figures released by the Division of Gaming Enforcement have revealed.

Total gaming win for current operators for the month amounted to $178.45m, down 1.9% from $181.82m in the same month last year.

That figure is a 14.8% year-on-year drop from $209.42m when including discontinued operators, after three Atlantic City casinos closed in that 12-month period.

Casino win totalled $168.04m, down 15.6% from last year’s $199.12m and down 2.4% from $172.1m for current operators, while internet gaming win for current operators increased by 0.1% from $10.31m to $10.4m.

DGE said in a press release that internet gaming win was impacted by its largest ever payout of $1.5m to a player using Betfair Casino.

Year-to-date total gaming win for the state currently stands at $376m when including discontinued operators, down from $405.17m at the same stage last year (7.2%), but that is an increase of 8% for current operators from $348.12m.

Borgata contributed the highest casino win total for February at $44.87m, followed by Harrah’s with $27.41m, while Borgata also topped the internet gaming win chart with $3.74m, which is down 8.6% year-on-year from $4.09m.
