Nevada’s April revenue drops 2% to $936m, despite 32% sports betting rise
Total gaming revenue in Nevada declined for the fourth straight month, totalling $936.5m in April, a 2% year-on-year decrease.
Figures released by the state’s Gaming Control Board (NGCB) show revenue at the Las Vegas strip dropped 4%, the highest decline of any region in Clark County, generating $481.9m.
Boulder Strip made the second-highest total in the County, $78m, down 0.24%, while Downtown operations increased revenue by 2% to $61m.
North Lake Tahoe, based in Washoe County, saw the biggest drop, falling 16% to $1.2m.
Sportsbooks in Nevada generated $21.6m for April on a $328m handle. This represents a significant increase of 32%.
Out of table games, twenty one blackjack was the top taker for Nevada, making $83.7m in revenue. This however, was an 11% drop.
Baccarat came in second, generating $66.8m in revenue for the month, up 2%.
In the slots category, one cent slot machines generated revenue of $293.4m, a 2% rise, while multi denomination slots revenue also grew 2% to $278.8m.
