Donaco appoints new CEO

Donaco International executive director Lee Bug Huy has officially taken over from John Arbuckle as Group CEO.

Donaco appoints new CEO

Huy will continue to serve on the board as an executive director, with existing non-executive director Paul Porntat Amatavivadhana appointed as non-executive chairman and Australia-based Andrew Phillips and Issaraya Intrapaiboon joining the board as independent, non-executive directors.

This follows the departure of non-executive chairman Mel Ashton and non-executive director Simon Vertullo from the board.

Huy formerly served as Casino VP at Star Vegas Casino & Resorts Co. and was responsible for developing its slot machine business model.

“I look forward to working with the rest of the team at Donaco to bring the casinos to fully operational post COVID-19 and borders reopening.

“We will continue to execute our pragmatic cost control strategy while keeping the market updated with future developments,” Huy said in a statement.

Huy played a significant role in keeping Donaco afloat, acting as the underwriter of a deal with Lee Bug Tong that saw the casino operator pick up $10m.
