Asia Pioneer reports 27% Q3 revenue decline

Listed on the Growth Enterprise Market of Hong Kong, the Electronic Gaming Equipment (EGE) supplier’s interests include Asia Pioneer Entertainment Ltd, a distribution, sales and servicing business for electronic table games and casino slot machines in Macau.

Asia Pioneer has attributed the decrease in revenue to reduced EGE sales and distribution, which fell from HK$48.2m in Q3 2019 to HK$36.1m in Q3 2020, a 25% year-on-year decline.

The company reported sales of 175 seats of electronic gaming equipment, down from a figure of 202 for the first nine months of 2019.

Consulting and technical services meanwhile also decreased, down 41% from HK$3.4m last year to HK$2.0m this year.

A statement from the company read: “The Group remains concerned about the impact of the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19 on the operations of its land-based operators in Macau SAR and Southeast Asia.

“The Group still hopes that its business activities can quickly return to pre-COVID-19 levels.”
