Alex Haywood joins Interactive Gaming Group as new CTO
Alex Haywood, former Head of Engineering at Evolution Gaming, has joined media technology company Interactive Gaming Group (IGG) as its CTO.
Haywood boasts two decades worth of industry experience, alongside working in technology-based roles with hyper-growth companies.
The new CTO will focus on applying his expertise to develop IGG’s technology and drive growth in the company.
Cristina Niculae, Interactive Gaming Group CEO, said: “We are delighted to have Alex joining us to lead our technology department, bringing to Interactive Gaming Group a wealth of experience. His knowledge building a world-class live streaming service that has placed Evolution Gaming at the top of the immersive market will be hugely valuable for IGG in the coming months and years.”
Hayward commented on his new position, saying: “Having spent many years across iGaming and FinTech, I have worked inside the two key hyper-growth technology spaces for almost 10 years and have witnessed what is required to succeed.
“Streaming is going to be one of, if not the, hyper-growth markets for some time in technology – and we will be on the cutting edge of that. The opportunity to work with Cristina, a key player in this space, meant this was a chance too good to turn down.
“Working with a number of major streaming success stories including Evolution Gaming, streaming has grown to be a real passion of mine. I experienced the death of Flash, the rise and the fall of RTMP, and now the latest technologies in this space such as Apple HLS, Adobe HDS or Microsoft Smooth take us to new heights.”
