Managing Director
Metropolitan Gaming
Alex Oswald has been the Managing Director of Metropolitan Gaming since July 2021. Metropolitan Gaming was formerly known as Ceasars Entertainment’s EMEA division, but was purchased by Metropolitan in July 2021, for a reported £15m ($18m).
In June 2022, one of Metropolitan Gaming’s wholly owned subsidiaries acquired Park Lane Club London, a club featuring a gaming floor, private gaming room, outdoor gaming terrace, lounge and bar.
After the purchase, the club which brought Metropolitan Gaming into the heart of Mayfair was rebranded to Metropolitan Park Lane.
While working with Caesars, he was responsible for managing Caesars Entertainment EMEA division through the Covid-19 pandemic. During that period, he completed a business restructuring and robust cash management plan.
In 2007, Oswald qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
Oswald began his career as an Audit Manager in 2004 for BDO LLP. He would go on to become a Corporate Finance Executive for the same company in 2010 and hold that role for just over a year.
After this position, Oswald joined London Clubs International as the Group Head of Planning and Analysis from 2011 to 2013.
In mid-2013, he moved on to Aspers Group as Head of Business Intelligence. Oswald was responsible for designing and implementing a suite of analytics, internal reporting and forecasting tools and reports.
Oswald then joined Caesars Entertainment EMEA in 2014 as CFO. He was responsible for overseeing 2,000 employees across 14 operations in three countries. In 2019, he was appointed as Managing Director and ended up navigating the business through the Covid-19 pandemic.
Finally, in 2021, Oswald became the Managing Director at Metropolitan Gaming. Here, he is responsible for operations in the UK, South Africa and Egypt.
Oswald has also been a Trustee of Kick-4-Life for over 13 years, where he is responsible for the control and management of the charity’s administration.
