Nils Andén has been serving as Kindred’s Interim CEO since 17 May 2023, coming in as permanent CEO in February 2024. Kindred is an online gaming operator with a number of brands, including Unibet and 32Red. These subsidiaries offer online casino, poker, bingo and sports betting products.

Major Achievements

While Andén served as the Director of Digital Marketing, GVC Group (now known as Entain) acquired Ladbrokes Coral and partnered with MGM Resorts for the launch of online sports betting in the US.

Since Andén joined the Board of EasyPark Group in 2018, the company has reported an annual revenue growth of 45%. In 2022 alone, the electric vehicle charging segment saw a 190% increase in transactions.

During his time as Head of Poker at Unibet in 2009, the amount of Unibet Open Poker Circuit saw a 66% rise in the number of tournaments held across five different countries.

Awards

On Kindred Group being awarded the ‘Social Responsibility of the Year Award’ at the Global Gaming Awards London 2023, Andén was present to receive the title.

Employment

Starting his career as a professional football player in the early 2000s, Andén joined the gambling industry through the Business Development sector of Unibet, part of Kindred, in 2006.

He would then transfer to become Head of Sales and Marketing, before becoming Head of Poker. Before leaving the company in 2016, Andén would also hold positions as the Head of Nordics & Benelux and CMO, totalling eight years during this tenure.

Andén spent several years as a CMO for CurrencyFair (a money exchange service) and the Director of Digital Marketing for GVC Group, now known as Entain (a multinational sports betting and gaming group). Andén is also a Non-Executive Director on the Board of EasyPark Group, an international app developer for parking operators.

Unable to stay away for long, Andén rejoined the company in 2020 as CCO, before being appointed as Interim CEO and finally full CEO in 2024. 

In late 2024, FDJ completed its €2.5bn ($2.7bn) acquisition of Kindred, with the brands becoming FDJ United. Alongside his title with Kindred, Andén is also the Chief Online Betting and Gaming Officer for FDJ now.
