Major Achievements

One of the major achievements in Mor Weizer’s career was the sale of Snaitech to Flutter Entertainment. This landmark deal (worth approximately €2.3 billion) was finalized in 2025, when Weizer orchestrated the sale of Playtech’s Italian B2C betting unit, Snaitech. This divestiture allowed Playtech to return to its core identity as a B2B technology provider.

Weizer also successfully spearheaded Playtech’s entry into the complex U.S. and Latin American markets. He negotiated a high-value partnership with Caliente Interactive in Mexico and obtained licensing for Playtech in multiple U.S. states. This led to partnerships with major operators like Parx Casino and Bet365.

Mor Weizer is widely credited with steering Playtech through multiple potential takeover bids and stabilizing the company’s stock by focusing on B2B growth and safer gambling technology.

Awards & Recognition

Mor Weizer’s name can be found regularly on shortlists for all the major industry awards. Some of the most recent recognitions he received include the Leader of the Year title at the 2024 SBC Awards North America and the Outstanding Contribution to the Industry award at the 2021 Gaming Intelligence Awards, honoring his leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic and his longevity in the sector.

Under his leadership, Playtech has consistently won top industry awards, including Live Casino Supplier at the 2025 SBC Awards and Best Online Casino Product at the 2025 GGB Gaming & Technology Awards (GGB).

Career Highlights

Weizer was one of the first executives to focus on IMS (Information Management System) technology that allows players to use a single wallet across retail betting shops, mobile apps, and desktop computers — a service that is now the industry-wide standard.

He also pushed for the acquisition of BetBuddy, an AI-driven responsible gambling analytics platform. This tool has been integrated into Playtech’s core portfolio, as it allows operators to detect risky player behavior in real time.

Weizer’s background as an auditor and financial consultant for PwC gave him an important perspective in structuring complex M&A deals, including the acquisitions of Best Gaming Technology (BGT) and Snaitech. These deals were considered pivotal for Playtech’s growth in the 2010s.

In Their Own Words

In an exclusive interview with Gambling Insider from November 11, 2025, Weizer commented on the expectations for Playtech for the rest of the year:

We expect to see growth in the Americas altogether, but we expect to see a lot more growth specifically in the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, and in certain parts of Europe, where we have strong partnerships in various countries. We are also looking to penetrate new markets, and we only just established ourselves, for example, in the Philippines — where we intend to launch in 2026. On that, the plan is to secure the two largest operators in the Philippine market, operating under the local licence, so fully regulated, as an initial phase.

Elsewhere, we expect to sign an agreement with a company that we believe will become one of the largest operators in Brazil. Coming into H2 as we are now, we expect that there will be a lot of opportunities for us. We are very excited about the future.
