MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

It was during his time at Gala Coral as Managing Director that Grosvenor Casinos, another Rank brand, completed its takeover of the operator. This made them the largest casino network in the UK at the time.

During his time as CEO at parent company Rank, Grosvenor Casinos has also released two online casino products; The Rialto and The Vic. These are meant to represent the two real-world venues while expanding the company’s online presence.

EMPLOYMENT

Prior to his role as CEO at The Rank Group, O’Reilly served as a Non-Executive Director at William Hill, from January 2017 to May 2018.

Before this, he held a position at a software company called Grand Parade. Here, O’Reilly served as its Chairman between the London Bridge and Krakow offices, before selling it to William Hill in August 2016.

O’Reilly was Managing Director of the Gibraltar branch of Gala Coral Group between August 2011 and April 2015, where he was responsible for overseeing and managing the launch of Coral’s online business.

Finally, O’Reilly’s introduction to the gambling industry came through his position as an Executive Director at Ladbrokes in 1999. During his 19-year career here, O’Reilly was also responsible for launching the online business for Ladbrokes, including its marketing, property and public affairs matters.

Currently, O’Reilly is a Member of the Board of Trustees with the New Bridge Foundation, a charity that supports volunteers befriending people who are in prison by exchanging letters and visiting them in person.

During his time as a Non-Executive Director of William Hill, between January 2017 and April 2018, O’Reilly was also the chair of William Hill’s Transformation Oversight Committee.

For almost a decade, between the years of 2007 and 2016, O’Reilly served as a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee for TelecityGroup, an independent network data centre operator.

“Rank has very strong brands which resonate with customers and a growing digital offering, and I look forward to building on this strong platform and taking Rank on to its next stage of development” John O’Reilly
