MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
Upon taking the helm at BVGroup in 2014, Meinrad spearheaded a decade-long transformation that reshaped the company’s identity and strategy. His leadership led to the rebranding of BetVictor into BVGroup, reflecting its evolution into a multi-brand, multi-market operator and technology provider.
One of his most significant achievements has been steering BVGroup’s B2B strategy. Meinrad oversaw the licensing of its proprietary technology to operators in Asian markets, successfully expanding the company’s reach. This move laid the foundation for BVGroup’s role as a technology solutions provider, working with media-driven betting brands such as BildBet, TalkSport Bet, Parimatch UK and Heart Bingo.
Further, Meinrad also led a 60% year-on-year revenue growth for BVGroup’s UK brands—ten times the estimated market growth.
EMPLOYMENT
Meinrad’s career began in the luxury retail and sports sectors, where he developed a strong commercial foundation. In 1992, he joined Wolford, where he honed his skills in brand management and international business operations.
He then moved to Nike in 1997, gaining experience in performance marketing and strategic growth initiatives before transitioning to Value Retail in 1998, where he spent five years expanding its commercial footprint.
His career trajectory took a sharp turn towards high-growth, high-performance brands when he joined Red Bull in 2003. Over the next five years, he played a key role in developing the brand’s global expansion strategy, applying innovative marketing and sales techniques that helped solidify Red Bull’s position in the sports and energy drink sector.
In 2008, Meinrad entered the iGaming and sports betting industry, joining Bwin.party as CCO. Over six years, he played a critical role in managing a multi-brand betting operation and expanding its global market presence. His tenure at Bwin.party provided him with in-depth knowledge of digital betting platforms, regulatory frameworks and international market dynamics.
In 2014, Meinrad was appointed CEO of BetVictor, following a major ownership transition that saw Michael Tabor take full control of the business. At the time, BetVictor was still largely associated with its founder, Victor Chandler and focused on a single-brand sportsbook.
Recognising the need for modernisation, Meinrad set in motion a long-term transformation strategy aimed at leveraging proprietary technology, enhancing market focus and diversifying the company’s portfolio.
Under his leadership, BetVictor evolved into BVGroup, a move that reflected its transition from a single sportsbook to a multi-brand operator and B2B technology provider. The company now powers multiple high-profile betting brands, including Parimatch UK, TalkSport Bet, BildBet and Heart Bingo.
