MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
One of Dumont’s notable achievements since assuming the role of LVS President and COO was overseeing LVS’ inclusion on the Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies in 2024, marking the company’s 10th appearance on the list.
Prior to this, Dumont was appointed to the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of LVS in March 2016, a position in which he was responsible for managing the company’s capital structure, ensuring its financial flexibility, and maintaining one of the strongest balance sheets in the industry.
EMPLOYMENT
Prior to joining LVS, Dumont worked in investment banking at Miller Buckfire & Co. and Bear Stearns & Co., where he gained experience in financial strategy and partnership brokering & management as well as corporate strategy.
Dumont then joined LVS in June 2010 and quickly moved through various senior roles in strategy, operations, and finance. Between July 2013, Dumont served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Strategy at LVS. His extensive experience across these departments led to his appointment as CFO in 2016. In this capacity, he has played a crucial role in overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring a solid capital foundation, and driving key financial initiatives.
During this time, his financial stewardship helped LVS pursue strategic development opportunities, maintain a commitment to returning excess capital to shareholders, and launch a share repurchase programme, strengthening investor relations.
At the time of Dumont’s appointment to CFO, Las Vegas Sands Chairman and CEO Sheldon G. Adelson stated: “Patrick has been providing strong leadership to the financial function and handling the principal duties of the CFO role very effectively for some time. We are extremely pleased to formally appoint him to this role, and we look forward to his contributions in the years ahead.”
Dumont was appointed to the role of President and COO in January 2021 after the death of LVS’ founder, Mr. Sheldon G. Adelson, who acted as the company’s Chairman and CEO since its inception. Dumont will become Chairman and CEO of LVS in March 2026, succeeding Robert Goldstein who is set to step down from the role.
