I joined Gambling Insider shortly before the very first edition of the Global Gaming Awards Europe, Middle East & Africa in February 2018.
I still have very vivid memories of that event in the amazing Hippodrome Casino in London’s West End. To Gambling Insider, the event marked an important milestone as this was the first Global Gaming Awards outside of Las Vegas.
To me, it was the beginning of a new chapter, as I was introduced to this incredible industry, full of passionate, innovative and exceptional people. I instantly fell in love with the gaming industry, and I feel so honoured to have the opportunity to now produce not one but three Global Gaming Awards a year, alongside my esteemed colleagues at Gambling Insider.
The Global Gaming Awards Europe, Middle East & Africa had a fantastic seven-year run in London, with each event getting better and bigger. While we will miss gathering the industry’s best operators and suppliers in one of Europe’s best casinos – The Hippodrome Casino, we are excited to have the 2025 edition of the EMEA leg of the Global Gaming Awards in Barcelona, at the place where the gaming industry goes to do business – ICE.
Those of you who have followed the Global Gaming Awards closely throughout the years, will know that they are considered the most prestigious Awards in the industry.
There are many reasons why our Awards are indeed the most prestigious, but I would like to highlight two.
Number one, everyone is shortlisted for a valid reason which we release in the public domain. You are not shortlisted because you are the biggest company but because you have continued to innovate, launch new products, form new partnerships, expand to new markets across in the past year.
Number two, the winners are chosen by the industry, not by us at Gambling Insider. And they are not just chosen by anyone from the industry, they are chosen by senior executives, all from different companies, and with expert industry and market knowledge.
The interest in the Global Gaming Awards continues to grow with each passing year, as we receive more and more submissions from companies who want to be considered for the final Shortlist.
I am amazed by how much can be achieved in just one year. The gaming industry is without a doubt one of the fastest-moving, most challenging and innovative industries. To be successful here, you have to constantly evolve your product offering and think not one but three steps ahead.
My sincere congratulations to every company and individual that was Shortlisted this year – you are all such an inspiration!
Looking forward to seeing you all and celebrating your success in Barcelona!
