A.G. Burnett to continue to head Nevada Gaming Control Board

Burnett’s four-year term was due to expire this month but he will now serve a second four-year stint of heading up the organisation.

Having previously served as deputy chief of the Gaming Control Board’s corporate securities division and as a senior deputy attorney general in the gaming division, Burnett took up the role of chairman in 2011.

He said: “I am proud to continue serving as chairman of the Gaming Control Board.

“I look forward to continuing the board’s work as we regulate Nevada’s most important industry.”

In addition, Shawn Reid has been reappointed as a board member, a company spokeswoman confirmed.

Reid, whose term was also due to expire this month, had previously served as chief of the Control Board’s investigation division before being promoted to the panel, which is made up of three members.

The members are all full-time state employees and make recommendations to the Nevada Gaming Commission.
