Yggdrasil expands into retail after signing licensing agreement with Veikkaus
Yggdrasil has expanded its offering into the retail segment after signing a game IP licensing agreement with Veikkaus.
The partnership will see the online supplier provide the Finnish state-owned operator with slot games for its retail estate in Finland, expanding on a collaboration that already sees Yggdrasil supply Veikkaus with online slot content.
The supplier’s first retail games are expected to go live in Finland across Veikkaus’ retail network in the middle of 2021, in compliance with regulatory requirements in the country. The supplier noted that an early proof of concept has already been carried out.
Yggdrasil chief of Global Market Operations Bjorn Krantz, said: “We are delighted to extend provision of gaming content to Veikkaus in their retail environment. Expansion of partnership into retail fits perfectly into our own and Veikkaus omnichannel strategy, were we effectively can scale business operations, drive improved total player value, and content familiarisation.”
Veikkaus Casino Games VP Jan Hagelberg, added: “We’ve chosen Yggdrasil to be our first partner to pilot this because of their innovative content, proven technical capability and capacity to deliver swift time-to-market with Veikkaus team. We are excited to expand our strong partnership from online to cover also retail.”
