Crown Melbourne granted permission to operate at 75% capacity

Crown Resorts has announced there will be changes to its Melbourne business operations.

CrownMelbourne

Victoria is the most Covid-19-affected state in Australia with over 20,000 cases and 800 deaths; however, with fewer cases being reported in March and administration of Covid-19 vaccines, the Government has decided to ease restrictions.

A statement from the Government therefore says members of public that can enter properties such as casinos will increase. These new rules will come into effect in Australia by Friday at 6:00pm.

They state Crown Melbourne can run at 75% of the maximum capacity of the facility, while a density quotient of one person per two square metres will be allowed inside.

Additionally, every second electronic gaming machine and table will no longer need to be switched off, meaning the business can offer more games to customers than previously allowed.

In keeping with Covid-19 restrictions, physical distancing and hygiene protocols will be enforced throughout the venue.

Crown will continue working closely with the Government and health authorities in Victoria to make sure appropriate Covid-19 measures are in place. It will also respond to any future changes the authorities wish to make.

Currently, the Victorian Government is still deciding whether Crown Resorts should keep its licence following a money-laundering scandal.

The Crown Resorts’ Royal Commission in Victoria is actively analysing the case.
