Few details have been released about the online event, which is scheduled to take place on the same day the land-based event was initially scheduled to start. Speakers for the upcoming online expo and conference are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

“Mark Your Calendar! G2E Asia Launches Online Expo & Conference on May 25, 2021 for Asian gaming industry professionals to explore exciting new innovations that represent a new era of gaming and entertainment,” a statement from G2E Asia read.

G2E Asia announced in January this year that the three-day land-based event will now take place on 17-19 August 2021 at the Venetian Macao. It was postponed due to ongoing travel restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Event organisers Reed Exhibitions said the new date of August 2021 will “allow exhibitors and attendees more time to plan for their participation in light of continued COVID-19-related commercial and travel restrictions.”

The land-based event was twice postponed in 2020 because of the pandemic, with the May date firstly pushed back to July, before being rescheduled to December. A provisional date of May 2021 was then provided, but August has now been deemed most suitable to hold the event.
