888poker to sponsor WSOP events
888poker, the online poker brand of operator 888 Holdings, has announced it has signed a sponsorship agreement with the World Series of Poker (WSOP).
Both the 2015 WSOP in Vegas and the 2015 WSOP Europe will be sponsored by 888poker, and the terms of the sponsorship will allow only 888poker to run official satellite qualifiers and online WSOP themed promotions outside of selected territories (the US, British Columbia and Quebec, Canada, Mexico, Italy, India and France).
Itai Pazner, senior vice president and head of B2C at 888 Holdings, said: “As a true partner with the WSOP on the B2B side where we power their real-money gaming in the United States, this was a logical next step for us to carry the power of the WSOP to our players across all other major markets we serve.
“This broad package gives 888poker players a great opportunity to win their way to WSOP events on our online poker site, plus gives us terrific content and assets to market our brand.”
The television coverage of the WSOP Main Event on ESPN will give brand exposure to 888poker, including on-site branding boards on the set where the final table will be played.
888poker has been granted approval to directly register players online into official WSOP tournaments, while it will promote updated WSOP chip counts on its related gaming sites.
