G2E Asia delayed once again, now scheduled for November

Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia, the trade show for the Asian gaming and entertainment industry, has pushed the 2021 version of the event back for a second time.

The new dates for the event are 9-11 November 2021, rather than the previously announced dates of 17-19 August 2021.

G2E Asia was twice postponed in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with the original May date pushed back to July 2020, before being delayed once more to December 2020. December’s show was then delayed, with a provisional date of May 2021 given for the event.

“Traditionally held in May, the November convening will allow exhibitors and attendees more time to plan for their participation in light of continued Covid-19-related commercial and travel restrictions,” a statement from G2E Asia read.

“G2E Asia 2021 will be a smaller and more personal experience for attendees to focus on networking and exploring new products in core gaming and integrated resorts.”

Prior to the pandemic, the casino industry trade fair and conference had been held annually in Macau since 2007. The Venetian Macao will host this year’s event.

“Through ongoing consultation with our exhibitors and the Macau Government, Reed Exhibitions and the American Gaming Association determined that a November event provides the best opportunity to create a valuable marketplace, educational content and networking opportunities for the global gaming industry,” said Reed Exhibitions China COO Josephine Lee.

“We look forward to bringing the gaming community together at G2E Asia, as the industry continues to recover from the devastating impacts of Covid-19.”

G2E Asia Online Expo & Conference meanwhile will take place on 25 May 2021 as previously announced, with the virtual event aiming to serve as an engagement opportunity as the industry prepares for the return of the in-person event in November.
