As part of the agreement, Gamban will be free for players and problem gamblers to use in West Virginia.
Thanks to the agreement, Mountain State residents can access Gamban's online gambling blocking software "free of charge," which could help improve the gambling addiction problem in the area.
According to the National Council on Problem Gambling, in 2019, 1 in 50 people living in West Virginia could have a gambling problem. Meanwhile, WalletHub ranked West Virginia as sixth when compared to other states in terms of gambling addiction.
Since 2000, the gambling treatment service in West Virginia has helped over 15,000 people with gambling addiction and their families.
It can provide support for gamblers by using its network of more than 70 state-wide therapists for treatment referrals.
The service also provides training opportunities, prevention and outreach services, a 24-hour helpline, support groups and retreat weekends.
