YouGov has published data that shows on average, 37% of the global population would prefer to see staff and employees wearing face masks in casinos.
The data was taken from interviews of adults aged 18 or over in 17 different markets; sample sizes varied from 927 to 8,221 for each market.
YouGov asked participants whether they would want employees to wear face masks in stores even if 60% of the population was vaccinated.
For the percentage of adults that chose casinos, an average of 37% said they would like to see face masks despite more than half the population being vaccinated.
The highest figures came from Mexico, Spain and Singapore, which all had above 50% of votes in favour of masks. Meanwhile, the UK and US hovered slightly lower at 46% and 45%.
In the UK, nearly 70% of the population has received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine. With casinos and halls opening up, it puts forward the question as to whether the UK Government will continue enforcing masks indoors.
While in the US, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has relaxed restrictions and said fully vaccinated people are not required to wear face masks in public places; however, data shows 45% of Americans would be against this.
Countries at the very bottom of this list included Denmark, Sweden, Indonesia, Australia, China and France – all of whom had votes in favour of masks at 30% or lower.
