Per Jaldung re-elected as Chairman, as European Casino Association welcomes new board members

For the first time, the European Casino Association (ECA) board will have two Vice-Chairs, after Bettina Glatz-Kremser (new) and Pascal Camia (continuing) were announced in the positions.

Meanwhile, Thomas Schenk has been re-elected as ECA Treasurer for another term and three new board members were announced.

The new members include Holland Casino CEO, Erwin van Lambaart, Domi De Wilde, CEO and MD of Casino Blankenberge, and Tiina Siltanen, General Manager, Casino Helsinki.

Per Jaldung was also re-elected ECA Chairman. Jaldung was also this week crowned Chief Executive of the Year at the Global Gaming Awards London.

Joining Gambling Insider's After Show exclusively, he said: “It’s an honour to win this category, for sure. I’m a bit surprised but very thankful and grateful to the Judges, and whoever nominated me. It’s a great Award and I’m very thankful."

On the ECA's new board, meanwhile, Jaldung said: “The ECA is delighted to welcome three new members to the Board at this year's General Assembly. The breadth of experience and knowledge that every Board Member brings to their role is vital for the recovery of the land-based casino sector, and I am very grateful to Domi, Tiina and Erwin for committing their time and energy to the ECA.

“And I am especially pleased that Bettina Glatz-Kremsner has stepped into the Vice-Chair role alongside Pascal Camia. Having the ability to call upon two such dedicated and experienced casino industry professionals is an invaluable resource for the ECA.”

ECA Joint Vice-Chair, Bettina Glatz-Kremsner, added: “I am honoured by the faith and trust placed in me by the ECA membership.

“I look forward to fulfilling my additional duties as Vice-Chair during this exceptionally difficult period for the land-based casino sector as we meet and adapt to the challenges of sustainability, responsibility, safety and inclusion.”

During the General Assembly meeting, the ECA also outlined its agenda for the next three years, although it added the agenda will not be limited to the issues mentioned.

The set agenda includes fighting illegal and unlicensed gaming offers, promoting European casinos, addressing diversity and environmental issues, integrating digital gaming offers in land-based operations, and working closely with regulators to optimise the operational environment.
