Adjusted EBITDA increased by 16% to £110.3m, with adjusted net income increasing by 20% to £81.6m. Cash balances at 30 June 2021 increased to £253.7m, while the company paid down £100m towards its outstanding term loan debt.

Average active players per month grew 16% to 744,807, with real money revenue per month increasing 23% to £62.8m. Monthly real money revenue per average active player subsequently increased by 5% to £84.

UK revenues increased by 20% for the period, while revenues in Asia increased by 30%. A “more challenging regulatory environment” saw European revenues decline by 29%, with ROW revenues falling by 1%.

“The group has delivered another set of excellent results for the first half of 2021 with revenue growth of 17% and adjusted EBITDA increasing by 16% during the period,” said Gamesys Group CEO Lee Fenton.

“This performance reflected significant double-digit revenue growth in our key markets of the UK and Asia and our continuing strong cash flow has seen leverage reduce further.

“We are fully focused on operational execution, product innovation and the enhancement of safer gambling initiatives across all of our markets and we remain fully confident in the group’s ability to deliver long-term sustainable growth.”
