The event, named after the famous horse trainer Sir Henry Cecil, will give visitors the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at British horseracing’s HQ.

Over the weekend, a number of activities will take place including the opening of 30 trainers’ yards and the Clipper Logistics Show Jumping Competition.

The event will raise money for the Racing Welfare and Newmarket Pony charities, as well as a yet-to-be-announced community project.

It will also form a part of the National Racehorse Week, a nationwide initiative to celebrate racehorses and highlight the care and attention they receive.

Charlie Fellowes, Chairman of the Henry Cecil Open Weekend, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming visitors back to Newmarket for the Henry Cecil Open Weekend.

“We have a record number of yards opening to the public on Sunday 19 September, which is a fantastic testament to both the weekend and National Racehorse Week.”

To close the show, flat racing’s biggest names will tackle the show jumping arena.

Prices start at £15 ($20.65) per person for a weekend wristband when purchased in advance or £17 per person if purchased on the day. Children aged 16 years of age and under enter for free.

General admission to the National Horseracing Museum (NHRM) costs £7.50 during the Henry Cecil Open Weekend.

This includes entrance to the museum, behind-the-scenes tours, access to the three special exhibitions, and a ride on the racehorse simulator.

Any visitor wearing an Open Weekend wristband will also be able to meet former champion sprinter Battaash and the other resident horses free of charge.
