Gaming operations brought in 32.6 Crores, an increase from 28.5 Crores for Q2 that ended in June. The figures also mark a recovery for the company as, during the same period in 2020, its operations were suspended from March to October due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2021, because of “the lockdown due to the second wave of pandemic announced by the state governments, the group could operate only partially,” a statement from the company read. According to the statement, casinos in Goa and a venue in Sikkim operated with 50% capacity in April 2021, with restrictions carrying over to other quarters as well.

“The company and the entire casino industry in Goa have made a representation to the government of Goa, seeking a waiver/reduction/proportionate payment mechanism for casino licence fees for the period of shut down,” said the statement. Delta Corp paid 16.67 Crores in licence fees for the six months ended 30 September; the operator hopes the government will consider the periods of inactivity due to the ongoing pandemic.

According to the group, Delta Corp is the only listed entity engaged in the casino (live, electronic and online) gaming industry in India. The company operates three offshore casinos in the state of Goa and one venue in Sikkim. It has also acquired Gauss Networks Private Limited, which operates the online poker site Adda52.com, as a gateway to the online gaming space.
