Sportradar will use its bet monitoring know-how to crack down on match-fixing in Dutch football.

In a new multi-year agreement, its Integrity Services division will process all publicly available information on the surface, deep and dark webs to inform the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) of any potential threats.

The division’s Investigation and Intelligence services team will look for irregular betting patterns, match manipulation and corruption, flagging any suspicious activity to support the KNVB’s integrity efforts.

“We are confident that this partnership will put us in the strongest possible position to uphold the integrity of our competitions,” said Jan Peter Dogge, Integrity Officer at the KNVB.

“The KNVB takes the threat of match-fixing and other sporting corruption extremely seriously, and we recognise the experience and depth of knowledge which Sportradar possesses in this field.”

This latest agreement builds on Sportradar’s existing relationship with the KNVB, in addition to other integrity agreements with FIFA, UEFA and the Asian Football Confederation.

Integrity Services’ MD Andreas Krannich touched on the increasingly complex threat of match fixing and the importance of strong integrity measures.

“Corruption in sport lives beyond match-fixing and the importance of robust due diligence measures that touch every area of business cannot be underestimated,” said Krannich.

“The evolving threats of match manipulation and other sporting corruption highlight the need for a constant and proactive approach to tackling potential integrity issues.

“Working with our Intelligence and Investigation services team, the KNVB has shown a commendable commitment to protecting the integrity of Dutch football.”
