Altogether, the charity has seen 3,837 individuals complete its training programme in 2021 to become teachers, education professionals and practitioners.
Through a combination of online and face-to-face sessions, YGAM provided over 440 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) training this year.
Based on these achievements, it expects to reach more than one million at-risk young people over the next 12 months.
Kyle Riding, Head of the National Education Programme at YGAM, praised his teams’ work, saying: “Our dedicated team has performed exceptionally during another difficult year. This ground-breaking programme continues to reach more communities in more regions every week.
“This year, our team has worked with some fantastic organisations including Coach Core, MET Police and the National Education Union, as well as many community foundations connected to football clubs including Aston Villa, Everton and Newcastle United. We’re very proud of our impact.”
The charity claims to have accomplished this feat due to its role in the Young People’s Gambling Harm Programme, a joint effort delivered in partnership with GamCare and supported by members of the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC).
This is a four-year programme offering educational resources, training and assistance to young people across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and collaborates with likeminded organisations in Scotland.
Trainees, or delegates as YGAM calls them, receive access to over 450 resources which it states are designed specifically for use with young people aged 7-25.
