The role, in which Valentine will work closely with two of RSI’s brands, BetRivers and PlaySugarHouse, will see the former baseball player bring his wealth of knowledge and experience of the sport.
He’ll provide exclusive network and social media content for the two brands, both of which operate popular sportsbooks, including videos, podcasts, TV appearances and radio interviews.
As a player, he was part of Major League Baseball rosters at Los Angeles Dodgers, California Angeles, New York Mets and Seattle Mariners. He transitioned to management in 1985, taking over the reins at Texas Rangers, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox and Japanese championship team Chiba Lotte Marines.
Since his retirement from professional involvement, Valentine has been included as part of ESPN’s analysis and commentary team on shows like Sunday Night Baseball, NBC Sports, and as a regular contributor to MLB on Sirius.
He commented: “I’m excited to be joining the BetRivers team at an exciting moment in the evolution of sports betting. This partnership will allow us to share my passion for competitive sports while at the same time providing valuable commentary to fans.”
He’ll also have the opportunity to engage with fans in his home state of Connecticut, with RSI launching retail and online sportsbooks in the area in October 2021.
Richard Schwartz, CEO of RSI, said: “We are thrilled to have Bobby Valentine, whose career spans six decades, join our BetRivers family of Brand Ambassadors. His vast knowledge and valuable MLB insights will be a tremendous asset to our sports bettors.”
