The Agility Grant investments will focus on the three core principles of innovation, collaboration and amplification. The NCPG expects to award between $20,000 and $40,000 grants to four to six organisations through round one of the initiative.
The grants will be used to support problem gambling prevention programme development in areas across the US where currently a lack of adequate facilities exists.
“Problem gambling prevention providers are historically under-resourced. These Agility Grants will provide support and help build some much-needed momentum towards reducing the long-term personal, social and economic costs of problem gambling,” said Keith Whyte, NCPG Executive Director.
“Funded projects will foster new ideas, elevate new voices and create new partnerships to strengthen the efficacy of prevention programming. We encourage all eligible organisations to apply.”
Applications for the first round of funding are being accepted from today until 22 February 2022. Announcements will be made in March of the same year. The evaluation of each application will follow several criteria, such as alignment to the Agility Grants Programme principles, a basis around funding pillar strategies and anticipation of community impact.
Organisations can apply for the Agility Grant under one or both of the funding pillars, which are titled Prevention Innovation and Amplification. Further details and the application form can be found on the NCPG website.
The NCPG anticipates that round two of the Agility Grant will be available in late summer or early autumn of this year.
