Playtika partners with Laurence Fishburne for World Series of Poker

Starting on the 3rd February, Playtika’s World Series of Poker campaign commences, and this year sees the formation of a partnership with Hollywood legend Laurence Fishburne as the face of a new national commercial.

Launching across the US, this play-for-fun poker event marks the first time the award-winning actor has partnered with a mobile entertainment game. 

The commercial itself is named “The Legend of World Series of Poker” and it involves Fishburne watching and narrating the story of WSOP player “StanDaMan.”

The theme of the commercial sees StanDaMan on a mission to achieve a digital version of the WSOP championship bracelet, the most coveted prize in poker.

While sitting in an American diner, his environment morphs into a stunning medieval, royal dining hall that’s full of food and colourfully dressed people. The story details how the experience of playing WSOP makes the everyday epic, giving players the chance to “Become A Poker Legend'' by turning nothing into greatness.

Fishburne commented on the campaign: "It was a really interesting offer to join the project. It came to me, and I thought 'I had to be a part of this.' I'm aware of WSOP and am fascinated by the gamesmanship of it. I'm thrilled to be a part of this game, and hope people enjoy my presence and that it can give them some joy!"
