In a deal which also sees Caesars Entertainment named Official Casino Partner, plans are included to launch a retail sportsbook at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, the home stadium of the NBA team affectionately known as 'the Cavs.'
Legendary basketball players who have starred for the Cavs over the years include LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal.
While no official date has been set for the launch of mobile sports betting in Ohio, the legislation has been passed by the state and sportsbooks are set to be given the green light before the end of 2022.
Chris Holdren, Co-President, Caesars Digital, commented: “We're ready to welcome Ohio sports fans into the Caesars Sportsbook Empire, while also making history with our second sportsbook at an NBA arena.
“As we prepare to launch sports betting in Ohio later this year, this wide-ranging partnership enables us to connect with the Cavs' passionate and highly engaged fanbase. Caesars Sportsbook at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse will be a first-class venue providing an exciting atmosphere for sports betting and more.”
Caesars Sportsbook will gain access to official logos and trademarks of the NBA team, while its own branding will feature prominently during home games and TV broadcasts.
When the retail sportsbook launches later this year, it’ll boast over 10,000 square feet of gaming space, including betting windows, VIP areas and bar facilities.
Caesars Entertainment is well-known for sponsoring sporting entities, having previously partnered with Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA, New Jersey Devils in the NHL and Michigan State University Athletics.
