The launch of the venture, branded as WSOP.CA, is backed by WSOP’s parent company, Caesars Entertainment; its launch remains subject to a working agreement with iGaming Ontario.
Daniel Negreanu, Global Ambassador, GGPoker, commented: “As a proud Ontario native, I’m thrilled that poker’s two greatest brands have come together to launch WSOP.CA and offer the Ontario poker community the perfect place to play online. You’ll be seeing exclusive WSOP rewards and tournaments, running on GGPoker’s amazing app – what’s not to love about that?”
Players joining during the launch period will receive a raft of bonuses and sign-up promotions, as well as the opportunity to join the Caesars Rewards loyalty program. When placing bets, players can accumulate points through the loyalty scheme, which can then be translated to hotel stays, food and beverage options and gaming experiences at Caesars’ venues.
Ty Stewart, Executive Director, WSOP, said: “This partnership combines the best poker brand with the top poker software, and we’re thrilled to launch this online poker room for Ontario players. We look forward to seeing Ontarians qualify for the live WSOP in Las Vegas this summer and challenge native son Daniel Negreanu for a gold bracelet.”
Existing GGPoker players can transfer their account over to WSOP.CA upon launch.
On a wider scale, Ontario’s online gambling market is set to launch on 4 April, with a multitude of operators and suppliers receiving their licences ahead of the opening date.
It is therefore no surprise so many new announcements are being made in regards to upcoming partnerships.
