In February, the company announced that Cawley would not seek re-election at yesterday’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), relinquishing his position on the Board of Directors and role as Chair of Flutter’s Audit Committee.
Furthermore, Cawley’s fellow director Zillah Byng-Thorne stepped down as Chair of the company’s Risk and Sustainability Committee, but will continue to serve as a Non-Executive Director (NED). However, she will step down before next year’s AGM.
Overseeing the Audit Committee in Cawley’s stead will be Holly Keller Koeppel, while David Lazzarato will replace Byng-Thorne as Chair of Flutter’s Risk and Sustainability Committee.
While these two appointments had been previously revealed, Flutter made a further announcement.
Carolan Lennon, the former boss of Irish telecoms giant Eir, will become the company’s newest NED, effective 1 July. She will also serve as Country Leader of Salesforce Ireland.
Lennon currently sits on the board of Allied Irish Banks (AIB), acting as both an NED and Senior Independent Director, but will resign before joining Flutter, effective 30 June.
Gary McGann, Chair of Flutter, commented: “Following an extensive search as part of our ongoing board renewal process, I am delighted to welcome Carolan as a Non-Executive Director.
“Carolan has significant experience of regulated, consumer-facing digital businesses. Carolan’s appointment is in line with our board renewal programme having regard to the scale, geographic breadth and growth of the business.
“We look forward to Carolan joining the Flutter Board and contributing to the company’s future.”
