With the support of the UK Government and other charitable organisations, the Parimatch Foundation has spent €510,000 on aiding the crisis, of which €190,000 has been used directly to provide humanitarian aid.
This includes $135,000 for the creation and repurposing of Parimatch hubs in Western Ukraine to support displaced individuals and families as a result of the conflict, €80,000 for hospital ventilators and €35,000 for Ukrainian athletes with disabilities.
The Foundation also facilitated the donation of 40 tons of clothing, medicine and food to those in need. It believes it has helped evacuate over 600 people from the country, as well as provided shelter for over 4,000.
One of the organisations Parimatch Foundation has partnered with is a British charity, WeHelpUkrainians. Together, they launched an initiative called the Ukraine Hospitals Appeal, which set out to raise €1m.
Parimatch Foundation Chairwoman Katerina Biloruska commented: “I am thankful to our British friends who heard our call for help and joined forces with us. We launched this fundraiser, united with medical experts and received support from our caring partners across the world to save Ukrainian children and women. We urge everybody in the free civilised world to join our efforts.”
The Foundation has also partnered with Hope For Children, which has provided aid to more than 100 Ukrainian children over the past two months, Peace Players, AEL and a number of sports clubs from Cyprus, a country that has taken in many refugees escaping from Ukraine.
Recently, Parimatch announced it was opening a new European hub in Prague, Czech Republic. The hub, which will initially serve as a way of offering employment to those forced to leave Ukraine, will eventually transform into a centre for research and development.
