Senet Group, the independent self-regulatory body which promotes responsible gambling, has refreshed its board for the new year.
Catherine Colloms, director of corporate affairs at Paddy Power, and Donal McCabe, group corporate communications director of Ladbrokes are the two new additions.
They will help oversee the gambling industry as industry directors, replacing Fiona Thorne of Coral and David Steele of William Hill, whose one-year terms have finished.
McCabe explained to Gambling Insider that the Senet Group had achieved much during its first year with regard to advertising.
He added: "I join the board keen to see it maintain its progress in promoting responsible gambling practices and messages across the wider industry."
Colloms explained that this year the Group will focus on a broader range of issues as their membership grows in the industry.
The Senet Group Board is setup to always have a majority of independent directors, namely Wanda Goldwag, Suzanne McCarthy and Gillian Wilmot, who were appointed in January 2015.
Goldwag, who is also chair of Senet Group, said: “It is really valuable to have the support of big gambling companies in our endeavour to reduce gambling-related harm.
"I welcome Catherine and Donal and would also like to thank Fi and David for their contribution over the last year.”
