Entain appoints Rahul Welde as independent Non-executive Director
Entain has appointed Rahul Welde as its new independent Non-executive Director. Welde is due to take up his new position on 1 July 2022.
Welde was most recently the Executive VP of Global Digital Transformation at Unilever and has over 30 years of experience in the consumer goods sector. The Indian national is known for driving digital strategies.
Furthermore, Welde will become a member of Entain’s Environmental, Social and Governance Committee (ESG) upon appointment.
Welde will, therefore, help measure the company’s impact on society, the environment, and its level of transparency and accountability.
Entain notes it has “no details” to disclose for Welde and he does not own any shares in the company.

The operator has agreed to acquire the entire share capital of BetEnt BV, which trades under the BetCity.nl name, from Sports Entertainment Media BV.
The initial consideration of €300m is payable in cash at completion, with a balancing payment due early next year based on the actual performance of BetCity in the financial year 2022.
