Under their agreement, OpenBet will supply its platform to Sazka, expanding their relationship and the provider’s European presence.
Sazka is a leading lottery operator in the Czech Republic and OpenBet is hoping to position itself for future growth in the Central European nation and continent at large.
Nikos Konstakis, OpenBet’s Group Chief Product Officer, called this deal a “key customer win,” remarking: “Partnering with Sazka’s sportsbook arm Sazkabet, known for holding a considerable share of the market in the Czech Republic, is a key customer win that we’re very proud to announce.
He added: “Through our comprehensive range of products and services, the lottery is well positioned to hold the competitive edge and bring exciting betting experiences to the people of the Czech Republic.”
Sazkabet, meanwhile, has deployed the provider’s platform, which includes a betting engine and risk and liability management pricing and trading service covering various sports.
“Transitioning to OpenBet’s sports betting technology and services is a key move for us to provide our customers with high-quality and responsible betting experiences,” said Jan Horyna, iGaming Director at Sazka.
“With OpenBet’s transformed modern technology, we are delighted to have introduced significant improvements to our overall sportsbook offering and relish the opportunity to plan future collaborations with OpenBet over the coming months.”
OpenBet is owned by Light & Wonder, formerly Scientific Games. Only last week, the business struck a deal with Endeavor Operating Company and Endeavor Group Holdings to sell OpenBet for $750m in cash and $50m in common stock.
