The company has brought John Worthington on board as its first-ever Vice President of Interactive Gaming to lead Jackpocket’s expansion, as his title suggests, into iGaming.
To this end, he will begin by bringing new products to market in New Jersey, where the company has secured access for online casino via an agreement with Caesars Interactive Entertainment.
Jackpocket anticipates a 2023 launch for its online casino product in the Garden State, followed by future market launches elsewhere.
Worthington commented: “Jackpocket is the proven leader in the digital lottery space, and I’m proud to join the team during this time of exciting product expansion.
“There is so much opportunity ahead to leverage products, features and expertise throughout Jackpocket to extend that customer relationship through an innovative iGaming product, first in New Jersey and then in other markets.”
Prior to his recent appointment, Worthington served as General Manager at Gamewise, where he oversaw its US sportsbook debut in early 2022.
The iGaming veteran has also held senior leadership roles at Parx Casino and Penn Interactive Ventures.
Pete Sullivan, Jackpocket Founder and CEO, said: “We are thrilled to welcome John and tap into his extensive leadership, operational and regulatory experience to usher Jackpocket’s expansion into casino and other iGaming products.
“With John at the helm, we’re investigating the game formats and features that will resonate with lottery players and look forward to bringing a truly seamless gaming experience to our players.”
