As Grupo Pefaco already has a large presence in West Africa, Moobifun's task is to take the operations Pefaco has on the continent, using its technology and understanding of digital markets, to bring the casino experience to the audience – with initial focus being on the six African countries Pefaco has casinos in on the continent.

While Moobifun will also use its own lottery products, digital scratchcard, and numbers games through the new agreement to further boost its presence in the region.

At the announcement of the deal, Moobifun’s Head of Business Development & Sales Louis Mecklembourg stated: “Grupo Pefaco has built a very successful business within the bricks-and-mortar casino space and we’re thrilled to help them digitise the African operation. Our localised expertise will ensure that users will have a seamless and enjoyable online experience.”

Furthermore, as part of the deal, Moobifun agreed to provide Grupo Pefaco with its Mobile Money system, which will be instantly accessible in the countries of Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Niger, the Ivory Coast and Burundi.

This follows recent news from the African continent, with BetConstruct recently announcing it is bringing the 'What's Yours Is Yours' campaign to the African region.

A month ago, Betfred also doubled down on South Africa’s betting market, acquiring a majority stake in local operator LottoStar.
