Net income for the period was $32.3m, compared to $37.9m in the prior-year period, which SciPlay noted was due to an increase in operating expenses. AEBITDA was $41.1m, compared to $47.9m in the prior-year period, while net cash provided by operating activities was $37.6m, an $11.1m decrease from the prior-year period.

“We are pleased with the progress we made and the continued momentum we are seeing in our business,” said SciPlay CEO Josh Wilson. “Our teams have been laser-focused on executing the strategy we laid out during our investor day, and capitalising on the opportunities we see ahead.

“We grew market share in the quarter, once again outperforming the social casino market. Our core business remains healthy even in a seasonally soft quarter, and we continue to progress on the integration of Alictus with the studio launching a number of new games in the quarter.”

SciPlay noted several highlights within the quarter, including Quick Hit Slots achieving second consecutive record revenue, mobile penetration increasing two percentage points from the prior-year period to 90%, and average Monthly Paying Users (MPU) increasing to 0.6 million compared to 0.5 million in the prior-year period.

SciPlay Interim CFO Daniel O’Quinn commented: “This was another solid quarter with SciPlay delivering year-over-year and sequential revenue growth. We are seeing our investments in our growth initiatives paying off as we continue to deliver strong engagement and monetisation metrics.

“Our highly cash generative business, coupled with a very strong balance sheet, allowed us to invest in our future while at the same time return capital to shareholders.”

SciPlay shares are currently down 0.48% today to $12.37.

Earlier today, Light & Wonder reported revenue of $610m for the second quarter of 2022, a 5% increase from the prior-year period.
