Tickets have gone on sale for Awakening, a 360-degree spectacle presented on a custom-built stage in the aptly named Awakening Theater.
Created by Bernie Yuman, Baz Halpin and Michael Curry, Awakening sees a heroine and her two companions undertake a quest to reunite two lost lovers.
This simple concept is elevated by dramatic choreography and advanced technology, such as WynnSonic, which purportedly creates “3D sound.”
Everything takes place atop a 60-foot “prismatic” stage made of multi-coloured dichroic glass and custom LED screens.
“This show makes it possible for people to escape into a world that pushes the boundaries of entertainment,” said Curry, Producer and Character Designer of Awakening.
“The puppetry and designs speak to the magnitude of Awakening as every scene takes the unbelievable and makes it real.”
Wynn Las Vegas has, in recent months, introduced several new experiences in a bid to diversify its offering. For example, the resort announced a new limited-time dinner series in August, costing guests $10,000 apiece.
Awakening will join this and similar experiences, but more specifically, represents a major attempt by Wynn Resorts to push the envelope when it comes to spectacle in Sin City.
“Every so often, the bar for spectacle in Las Vegas is raised,” said Craig Billings, Wynn Resorts CEO.
“State-of-the-art lighting, sound and stage technology, coupled with intricate storytelling, glamorous costumes and large-scale puppetry will make Awakening and the Awakening Theater stand out as true innovations in theatrical entertainment and raise that bar for Las Vegas, once again.
“I am deeply proud of the team that has so carefully crafted this one-of-a-kind experience.”
