Entain reports rise in Formula 1 wagers
Operator Entain has reported an increase in popularity for Formula 1 betting.
Entain recently published its Q3 trading update, while its Formula 1 report shows a 50% increase in terms of customer wagering, from 2018 to 2021, as well as a 30% increase in the total number of bets on each season.
Entain reported an 18% increase in the number of UK customers wagering on Formula 1 between 2021 and 2022, and this year’s Formula 1 season is not over, as there are still four races to go.
The British Grand Prix from July 2022 reported a 121% increase compared to 2018.
Most of the group’s betting customers interested in Formula 1 since 2018 have been from the UK (35%), Brazil (17%), Germany (17%), and Spain (15%).
These numbers come in synchronisation with the spike in popularity that Formula 1 has seen across streaming and multimedia platforms worldwide.
Dom Grounsell, Entain CCO, said: “Our customers are finding Formula 1 an increasingly exciting sport to participate in – numbers are growing year on year, in line with the popularity of the sport. This has no doubt been helped by the hugely successful Netflix Formula 1 Drive to Survive series.
“We’re looking forward to the next stage of Formula 1’s exhilarating journey, and with our bench-strength of global sporting brands, are perfectly placed to keep our customers entertained and close to the action.”
