The UK-based operator will launch its offering on day one, 1 January 2023 – and any customer that signs up between then and December will automatically have betting credits applied to their accounts.

Furthermore, bet365 will offer new customers an additional $200 in free bets, so long as bettors deposit $10 and wager $1.

In a statement, bet365 said of the promotional offer: “Ahead of our launch on 1 January, bet365 is pleased to provide this early sign-up offer for sports fans across Ohio. Ohio has such a rich sporting history, and bet365 is proud to be a part of it.

“Whether you’re a Guard’ or a Red, follow the Cavs or the Bengals, or if the Blue Jackets are your team, we at bet365 will have an offer, a promotion and a live stream ready for you in 2023!”

As with the launch of sports betting in any new state, sportsbook operators are engaged in a fight to claim the most customers, with the aim of cementing positions in what is expected to become one of, if not the, biggest gambling market in the world.

This is why large promotional offers are being banded out by operators whenever a new state goes live, with DraftKings offering customers $200 in free bets for launch day in Maryland – expected to be in late 2022 – with five customers selected at random to receive $100,000 in free bets.
