Micro-betting is a product that allows for an almost-infinite amount of bets. In essence, it is simply a lot of betting – and a lot faster than usual.
Simplebet is not the only supplier to provide this product, with others since following suit, while BestOdds Co-Founder Will Armitage recently told the GI Huddle he feels micro-betting may in fact lead to "bettor exhaustion."
The concept's popularity had perhaps stalled for a while headline-wise, until Simplebet Co-Founder Joey Levy partnered up with Jake Paul and Betr.
But certainly, there were no more big partnership announcements á la DraftKings and FanDuel.
Until now.
Indeed, Simplebet has announced a partnership with Caesars Sportsbook, "empowering" bettors to bet on the results of "every play, pass or pitch within a game."
Chris Bevilacqua, Simplebet CEO, said of the deal: “Forging a partnership with an iconic brand and leader in sports betting such as Caesars accentuates that micro-betting is becoming an emerging feature of the betting landscape, and a must-have offering for any major sportsbook.
"Micro-betting has transformed the way fans, operators and media companies view live sporting events and we’re thrilled to work with such a dynamic partner to accelerate its widespread adoption.”
Eric Hession, President of Caesars Digital, added: “Play-by-play betting is an innovation that we know our customers want access to.
"We’re excited to enhance our product experience by bringing customers closer to the sports, teams and athletes they love than ever before at a time when the sports calendar is packed with marquee events.”
"Caesarisation"
The timing of this partnership is perhaps not ideal for the operator here, however, as Caesars recently made headlines for its "Caesarisation" of college campuses.
The operator has since emphasised its responsible gambling initiatives with students and across the board.
But signing with a micro-betting supplier that encourages essentially betting on everything – all the time – doesn't exactly negate any of the critical mainstream headlines Caesars has received.
