Catena Media acquires AskGamblers

Lead

Acquisition
generation specialist Catena Media has acquired affiliate AskGamblers.com for €15m.

The deal is the largest in Catena's history and its third acquisition this year.

The transaction includes all affiliate accounts, domains, mobile apps and social media accounts.

AskGamblers provides player reviews and online casino rankings, as well as the opportunity to resolve online casino-related disputes, which has resulted in more than €5m being repaid to players.

The €15m purchase price will be paid in three tranches: €3m will be paid on completion of the transaction, €8.25m will be paid when all assets have been transferred to Catena Media and €3.75m will be paid six months after the acquisition has completed.

AskGamblers’ sales for the first quarter of 2016 reached approximately €810,000, with its profit margin surpassing 80%.

AskGamblers’ development centre is based in Serbia and is comprised of 30 employees, all of whom will be offered continued employment by Catena Media.

Catena Media now has approximately 130 employees, with offices in three countries.

“We are incredibly proud of acquiring AskGamblers which is one of the best brands in the affiliate market and whose operations are a perfect fit for Catena Media," said Catena Media CEO Robert Andersson.

"AskGamblers is an extremely important site for casino operators and, through its stringent requirements for certified casinos, contributes to creating a better i-gaming industry."

Last month Catena acquired Swedish affiliate network Wonko Media AB for SEK 32m and an unnamed affiliate network in Italy and Belgium for €3m.

Catena Media was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Sliema, Malta.

Its core markets are Sweden, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
