Kindred’s harmful gambling revenue falls to 3.3% for Q4

With the launch of a new data-disclosure initiative and the Journey towards Zero Panel, the quarter has seen an increased focus on collaboration.

This decrease during the fourth quarter might be due to the holiday season. It contributed 4% of total revenue.

During the quarter, the responsible gambling team at Kindred reported improved gambling behaviour from 82.1% of detected customers.

Henrik Tjärnström, Kindred Group CEO, said: “As we review the trend over these past two years, there is still significant fluctuation and that the curve has not been as steadily declining as we hoped.”

Kindred Group introduced its Journey towards Zero in February 2021, integrating the goal of generating 0% of its revenue from harmful gaming into its whole business strategy. It is composed of a wide range of professional organisations with a variety of backgrounds in gambling and real-world expertise.

Daniel Spencer, Director of Safer Gambling at Epic Risk Management, said: “Epic recently extended its partnership to provide expert insight and consultation to help their Journey towards Zero. We are delighted to be able to provide consumer insight that ultimately will lead to better player protection.”

Meanwhile, the panel will hold several focus groups and workshops with panelists to get their opinions on how best to realise Kindred’s goal and evaluate the PS-EDS system (Player Safety – Early Detection) to identify areas for development and future cooperation.
