Betsson Group, the parent company of Betsafe, is an online gambling company that offers casino, poker and sports betting products.

One of Betsson's brands, Betsafe, has localised its iGaming platforms for customers in Ontario, following the licence issue.

The operator licence will allow Ontarians to access Betsafe’s products through the Strive Gaming platform, which will be available through mobile apps and the website.

The Betsafe online casino will offer a range of games, from slots to classic table games and live dealers.

The sportsbook will offer a wide range of sports, as well as betting markets and the ability to watch live matches through the platform.

On getting the license, Betsson President and CEO, Pontus Lindwall, said: “We are pleased to obtain the necessary licenses to operate with both a B2C and B2B offering in the locally regulated online gaming market in Ontario.

"We are convinced that there are great opportunities for Betsson in Ontario in both the B2C and B2B channels as we bring a highly competitive offering to the market.”

A supplier licence has also been given to Betsson, the parent group. This will allow it to offer its sportsbook to other operators in Ontario on a B2B basis.

Ontario launched its legalised and regulated online gambling market in April 2022. Betsson will join over 50 operators who have already received the appropriate licences to run in the province.

Betsson will categorise Ontario under its Rest of World category. This section currently makes up 2% of the operator’s total revenue, with €4m ($4.2m) brought in from Q4 2022.
