New Jersey records $412.2m in total revenue for February 2023

New Jersey's total gaming revenue for casinos, racetracks and their partners reached $412.2m in February 2023, up 10% from the $373.3m recorded in February 2022 as reported by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

In year-to-date terms, total gaming revenue reported was $849.1m, up 13% from $755m reported in the prior-year period.

The report states that February 2023's casino win for the nine casino hotel properties was $215m, an increase of 1% from February 2022's $212.4m.

Year-to-date casino win for the first nine properties stands at $426.6 million, an increase of 8% from the previous quarter's $396.1m. Internet gaming win reported by casinos and their partners was $142.6m, a 10% rise compared to $130m for the prior period.

Meanwhile, for the year-to-date period, internet gaming win was $295.5m, reflecting a growth rate of 10%.

Furthermore, there was a 77% increase in sports wagering revenue reported by casinos, racetracks and their partners. Revenue reached $54.6m for February 2023 and $30.9m in the prior-year period.

For the year-to-date, sports wagering gross revenue totalled $127m, reflecting a 39% rise year-on-year.

In January, New Jersey reported gaming revenue of $137.8m, an increase of 33% year-on-year.

And while its sports betting handle amounted to $1.35bn for January, online casinos and poker rooms also performed well, exceeding December’s previous record revenue by more than $5m, or 3%. Leading New Jersey’s iGaming sector in January was Borgata, with revenue of $39.1m reported for the month.
